Hello everyone!

My name is Selina :) Thank you for checking out my profile!


I was born in Vietnam, but I studied and worked in Singapore for 8 years before moving to Japan in 2017 with my Japanese husband. The official languge in Singapore is English, so using English has become so natural to me that sometimes I find it easier to express myself in English rather than in my own mother tongue (~.~)

I used to work as a fulltime English teacher at a private English school in Aichi prefecture, but now I'm offering my lessons online because I would love to meet people from every corner of the world. I have experience teaching both adults and children.

I myself am a mother of a 2-year-old bilingual girl, so I'm passionate about bringing English to children at young age. For adults, I offer personalized lessons based on the student' needs such as TOEIC preparation, grammar, vocabulary building, conversational English, and speaking practice through news.

I am cheerful and enjoy talking to people. I love travelling, learning foreign languages and exploring cultural differences. My mother tongue is Vietnamese and my second language is English. I speak Japanese too, so don't worry if you speak little to zero English :)

A little background about my teaching/ language-related certification:

  • 120-hour Master TEFL/ TESOL Certificate - in progress, expected completion in September 2021
  • Teaching TOEIC Preparation Certificate
  • Teaching Grammar Certificate
  • TOEIC 990
  • JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N2

I learned different languages from scratch, therefore I can totally understand the struggle of learning a foreign language. I'm extremely friendly and flexible, so please feel free to discuss with me on how I could help you in your English exploration journey :)
