Hello and Welcome to Cafetalk!!! My name is Vannessa and I am a native English speaker from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am an experienced English online tutor who currently teaches teens and adults from beginner to advanced level. I have helped my students improve their grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and have assisted them with their proofreading tasks.

I have been teaching English online for more than one year and have taught students from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. I have also taught students from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Spain. Thankfully, my experience of teaching English online has been a pleasurable and memorable one so far and I am optimistic that teaching you will be equally pleasurable.

Prior to teaching English online, I taught a second language to students at the junior high and high school level for more than ten years. I am a patient and motivational tutor who gains immeasurable satisfaction when my students achieve a milestone in their learning.

In 2006, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts (Spanish) and later acquired a Diploma in Education and Training in 2011. In 2019, I was awarded a 120-hour TEFL Professional Certificate, which is accredited and globally recognized.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy watching several genres of films including documentary, comedy, romance, thriller, action, and drama. I also enjoy traveling, a passion which has taken me twice to Panama and to the USA on countless occasions, where most of my family members live. When I visit the US, I indulge in my love for different cuisines. My favorite cuisines are Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Greek and Italian.

I also enjoy meeting new people online and learning about their culture and this love is realized every time I teach online
