Beating Post-Holiday Blues

今週のテーマ: 五月病を乗り切るベストな方法

2019年5月8日 | 1 コメント

I'm sure we all know this feeling. The Sunday night before returning to work is often an unhappy one, especially if you've just had an amazing holiday! Maybe you travelled somewhere exotic or maybe you simply stayed home and enjoyed doing nothing. Either way, the result is the same: post-holiday blues.
I'm afraid there is no magic pill to cure post-holiday blues. It's something we must accept as payment for a great holiday! However, it doesn't last forever and we can help ourselves feel better too! Here are a few ideas to help you beat your post-holiday blues:

1. Be grateful for your holiday. Maybe this is easy to say but it's good for us to remember that nothing can last forever. Instead of wishing that your holiday was longer, try to be happy that you HAD a holiday! Remember the good memories and move on into the future.

2. Remind yourself why you love home. If you've been travelling, there's nothing better than sleeping in your own bed again! Maybe cook your favourite meal or read a book in your favourite chair. Maybe it's not exotic but it's home.

3. Try to make good relationships in your workplace. If you have friends at work and you don't hate your boss, it definitely makes going back after a long holiday easier!

4. Explore your neighbourhood. If you have time after work or at the weekends, walk around and enjoy yourself. There's always something new to see or do!

I hope you find these tips helpful. I hope you all had a great Golden Week!
