My Cruise to Vietnam! (Video!)

2019年9月18日

Dear Cafetalk Community!

[*Note: In case you're wondering, I'm the brunette in the video]

How are you doing? Is it getting any cooler in Japan? In Canada, it's getting cooler in the morning and evening, but it's still hot during the day! Today, I wanted to share my video when I went on a cruise to see Vietnam! This was the second time I got booked on a cruise line to advertise their ship. The first time, I boarded a cruise line called Crystal Cruises owned by a Japanese company. I went to Rome and cruised around the Mediterranean Ocean. Then, I went to the South of France and the Greek Islands.

At the time, I was reading a book about how Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton would travel on a yacht to escape the mob of paparazzi chasing them all the time. The cruise line I was on had a library of books and movies, so I checked out the movie called "Antony and Cleopatra" starring both Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. It was exciting to read that the stars docked at the same places as my cruise route.

On a cruise, there's never any need to eat any meals off of the ship. They are always serving food somewhere on the ship at all times. They had a variety of restaurants and there were top chefs from many countries who came on board to serve CEOs and other important people.

I encountered the Prince of Saudi Arabia on board who had fourteen wives, each with their children and own entourage. Each of the wives had many servants to help them take care of their kids. At the same time, the Japanese wife of a CEO from a reputable and large Japanese company was ironing her husband's shirt in the cabin. What a sharp cultural difference, huh?

Later, I saw the Prince of Saudi Arabia who was in the Casino gambling. I wondered how thrilling gambling was when you already had all the money in the world! The other couples were very nice and I met a lot of nice people (including the ship's staff from all over the world!) There was a Somalie and an escort hired in case a lady was traveling alone. He was hired to entertain and dance with single lady guests. For real!

The only thing that wasn't mentioned on the online website, when I investigated the Cruiseline, before I accepted the modeling job was pirates! I twisted the ears of many people who worked regularly on the cruise ship and they said pirates have come on board to rob the guests. I understand that cruise lines and other shipping companies are inclined to pay off millions of dollars in ransom rather than lose any lives.

I was with another blond female model and two guy models. I shared a room with the blond model, but she was something else! I was not having a good time with her erratic energy and selfish demeanor. I was stuck with her for the entire month-long voyage to Vietnam. I figured out later that she was probably on drugs. She could put away three-plates of dinner, salad, plus dessert every day and never gain a pound!

At the end of the cruise when we were ready to board the flight, she insisted that I carry her bag in my carry-on bag, but I finally refused. She didn't like me contradicting her, so while I was sleeping, she hid my bag four rows back in the middle of the airplane. A lady next to me who was like an angel told me exactly where to look to find my carry-on bag. The other model was vindictive and mean, and it was really stressful to keep up with her manic energy.

When I called home, my two-year-old daughter said, "Mommy. Don't go on the boat anymore." I was heartbroken and finally broke down crying so far away from home. The sea was rough in the South China Sea. At first, the cruise staff handed out ginger candy for seasickness, but finally, they resorted to sleeping pills when the sea got tumultuous.

I recovered and persevered until I got home. In the beginning, the wardrobe lady spoke ill of me, for some reason, and everyone was mean to me. By the end of the cruise, I had won over everyone's hearts including the filming crew and the international staff on the cruise ship.

It was a difficult job, but it was also a wonderful experience! Going to the war museum was also a challenge, but overall I learned a lot! The people were nice and they had lovely things to buy in Vietnam! I will never forget the memorable trip!

Thank you for letting me share about my trip to Vietnam and the Mediterranean Cruise jobs! I appreciate your reading my column. Please give me a shout sometime and send me a lesson request. I will make sure it's worth your time! I look forward to seeing you! Take care!

Warmest regards,

Lady Ayame
