Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bettie Ido

My very first Cafetalk lesson took place on Christmas Day last year, and I was quite nervous and excited at the same time.  I thought it was a lovely Christmas present.  Since then I have earned a ring of flowers around my profile photo for completing 300 lessons and was chosen for a Rookie award.

I have learned a great deal about online teaching and met so many interesting and varied students.  Everyone is extremely motivated and eager to improve their English. Some of my lessons focus on a particular activity, but my Open Conversation Lesson and my English a la Carte usually include all kinds of activities, like reading or listening, vocabulary or pronunciation, news stories or discussions.  I enjoy the variety and hopefully the students do as well.

I look forward to seeing everyone again next year, and meeting many more of you out there.
