Crime Files Class : Todays News *Nova Scotia * Mass shooting, 17 dead .

2020年4月20日

Today, I want to speak about my Crime files class that I offer. It is one of my most popular classes, where we can learn new vocabulary and  learn from the  crime situations that happen in America and Canada.

I use articles from Canada as well as from America from a student newspaper, and recently I had sent a student an article about a canadian incident from 1989 where a man masscred 14 women at a univeristy in Montreal, Canada.  This brought about changes in the system of gun control and brought about more notice to violence aganist women, so good things come out of the bad. We learn as s society in Canada how to make our country safer. This event was the worst shooting in Canadian history, until this morning....(April 20th, 2020)

This morning all over my facebook page and even on the Japanese news, was my brith place of Nova Scotia .... a killer shooting people and by the end  17 people dead , it had now become the worst mass shooting in the history of Canada. I`m glad these types of events are rare in Canada, but I am saddened and shocked that this happened in my peaceful birthplace.

I am glad that to my knowledge all my family and friends are safe. But, my heart is breaking for their friends and neighbours who have lost people today.  I hope that Canada and the world will learn something from this situation and that again something good will come from it.

I hope you will join me to learn about this and many more crime files from murder to kidnapping to robbery to faking ones death, there are so many interesting cases to discuss  and learn from the situations.

If you would like to talk about this situation, vocabulary from the videos etc. Please contact me , set up a crime files class or casual chat.

Updated April 21st : the dead now stand at 19. :( my heart breaks more for those back in Nova Scotia.

Updated April 22nd , 2020 * The death toll has now risen to  23 people  as police explore the communities along the 90 KM where the killer drove. There is a possibility of dsicovering more crime scenes in the coming days.

Stay safe, Stay health, and care about your neighbours , call that person you love and let them know you`re there.

warm regards,
