Giving back and receiving.....

2020年5月5日

It looks like we may be in this situation for sometime.
But that is no reason to slack on our health and fitness!

Isolation can wreak havoc on our physical and mental health, and it is important that we don't come out of this period with a deteorating body or mind due to lack of activity.

I have seen lots of people (including friends) using this situation as a reason to stay indoors, drink beer and watch movies. And whilst that is totally fine, it is unhealthy, and mostly importantly unsustainable for a long period of time.

Ultimately it is YOUR choice, and I can only encourage you.

You have the park, your have your apartment stairs, you have youtube exercise videos, and you have your own house to exercise in if you don't want to leave.
But do SOMETHING.
The human body is not designed (evolved?) to sit down all day, and the effects of this may not become apparent until later life.

I am offering reduced priced fitness lessons, discount coupons, deals (free exercise and mobility sheets) and a whole array of lessons, typed up programmes (if you do not want to exercise on camera), recipes and worksheets.

On top of this I will be donating 50% from certain lessons (as well as my own money) to the National Emergencies Trust. It is not simply our right to be kept safe, and even if you are totally unable to help (work, volunteer, help in your community, operate phones to elderly homes etc) there is the possibility to donate money or even to check up on friends and family.
People are volunteering to go to the supermarket to buy food for the elderly and there are incredible stories like this 99 year old war veteran who is doing 100 laps of his garden in his walking frame!!! He has already raised over £28 million (28 million pounds / 35 million dollars) and plenty more is coming.

It is simply impossible not to be moved and inspired by his actions.

He can hardly walk and yet decided to do this to give back to the community for his 100th birthday.

What better way to do it than this.

The secret of life is that doing good for others, FEELS good for us.

So it's a cycle, and there really is no reason not to do it ;-)

It's a win-win situation.
