Fave Musical Instruments (and what they represent)

Dani L.

***

Vocabulary + mini lesson:

To represent (v.) = to be a sign or symbol of (someone or something)

Swag (n.) = Slang. A cool, edgy attitude; an edgy aura

“The electric guitar represents the swag that I think I have, but actually don’t.” – I believe that I am cool, but I’m not.

We often use the phrase, “(one) + thinks that …” to mean that one believes that something is true, but it isn’t.

Examples:

“Mike thinks he’s super handsome.”
“Sally thinks she’s coming with us.”

“My niece used to think that the word ‘familiar’ meant ‘ugly.’”

In all three examples above, none of what Mike, Sally and my niece “think” is true.

I hope this mini lesson was helpful to you!
