I recently signed up for the Disney+ streaming service for the first time. I had gone through most of the movies on Netflix already and wanted to check out what Disney had to offer. I quickly got sucked back into the Pirates of the Carribean movies. They’re wacky, entertaining, and just good fun, and I really do enjoy the character of Jack Sparrow. 

Jack plays many roles in the movies, from hero to antihero to villain and also the comic relief. You’re never sure whose side he’s on because he’s always on his own side! You can admire him for his clever ideas, fighting skills, and perseverance, and no matter what crazy thing he does, you also never doubt that Jack has a good heart. What keeps you really interested, though, is how unpredictable he is. When one of the characters asks, “Do you think he plans it all out… or just makes it up as he goes along?”, you’re wondering the same thing!

It seems like Disney wants to continue making Pirates of the Carribean movies, but there has been a lot of controversy about Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow's actor) recently, and it’s unknown if he will return for another movie. The franchise just wouldn’t be the same without Jack Sparrow, though, so it will be interesting to see what they decide to do!
