Weather!

2021年6月11日

What's the weather like where you live today?

I live on the Gold Coast and we've just had a cold snap (a sudden cold period). The wind has come from Antarctica, and the news here have called it an "Arctic Blast"! (yes, not from the Arctic in the north, but the Antarctic in the South, but anyway).

How cold is it, you ask? Well, this morning it was 8 degrees!!!

That's nothing, you may think. But on the Gold Coast, we are used to (familiar with) temperatures much warmer than that. It is winter though (=but), so fair enough (= I guess it's ok).

In Japan and other countries in the northern hemisphere, it’s summer now. Nice, lovely warm temperatures. Antarctica is a world away :)

let’s meet for a quick chat (free with coupon, at the moment): Introduction and consultation :)

If you want to talk about weather (or anything else), try: Speaking and review

If you’d like to practice grammar (tend to, tenses), try: Grammar 25

If you’re looking for news, try:  Breaking News English

If you’re after TED Talks ideas, try: TED talks! :)

If you're interested in English in songs / music, try: Song English listen and review

Thanks for reading! Have a nice day :)
