Students who study abroad

Weekly Topic: Any Advice for students who will be Studying Abroad?

Jul 8, 2021

I think the most important thing to keep in mind is to be careful who you trust. Different countries have different people with different mindsets.
Next would be to arrange your accomodations before actually arriving.
After you arrive and settle down, look for convenient places where you can buy groceries and food.
In some countries it's not safe to go out after dark, in certain areas. It would be very helpful if you had someone you know, who lives in that area and can advise you.
Be careful with currencies. Exchanging money and thinking your expenses in a foreign currency can be tricky and you may spend more than planned.
Double check with local people if tap water is drinkable. There are some cities where tap water is used only for doing the dishes and the laundry.
It's not wise to share private information with people you don't know and don't trust.
Also, avoid getting drunk in pubs alone, because some taxi companies are not safe.
I'd be glad to answer any questions you have. I have traveled in Europe and I'd be happy to share any information with you. One of my lessons is called LET'S CHAT. we can continue our conversation online . Good luck with your studies.
