Rainy days

It’s another rainy day in Toronto and the temperature has fallen from 38 degrees two days ago to just 16 degrees right now. I love it! It’s so nice when a big storm washes away the heat and humidity and leaves the air feeling fresh and clear.

Rainy days are perfect for reading a book inside with a cup of coffee or enjoying the smell while sitting on your balcony in your favourite sweater. Rainy days are nap days, Netflix days, rest and recharge days. Even when you’re working, rainy days are calm, mindful days. Everyone slows down a little and thinks a little deeper. Sometimes rainy days are melancholy days, but this can be a nice balance to our hectic lives - a time to reflect.

Do you remember rainy days when you were a kid? There’s something very magical about the rain for kids. They want to go out in the rain and play and splash around in it. As adults, we forget how fun it can be. We worry about getting our hair and shoes wet, but when you get caught in the rain and completely soaked, you can just give up your worries, laugh, and enjoy it.

My cup of coffee is finished, so I’m going to go out and enjoy the rain now. It won’t last forever!
