The heavy rain finally came to end last weekend and hot sunshine broke out, waking up the cicada's and parching the ground almost instantly. We don't have cicada's in the UK, so the sound always makes me remember family summer holidays to places like Spain, or Greece, the beautiful Mediterranean countries of Europe.

ようやく大雨が終わってよかった。週末から強い太陽が出て、セミを起こせて土壌がすぐに乾いた。イギリスはセミがないから、セミの鳴きを聞くと幼い頃家族が暖かい国の旅行に行くことを覚えている。スペインとかギリシアに行ったことがあった。地中海の美しい国がたくさんあるですね。

So it gave me the chance to get back into the garden and get back into the regular routine. I found a lot of small holes in the ground where the cicadas had dug themselves in. A lot of ants were running around as well. The garden is humming, not just with the sound of cicadas but with the rich invisible hum of life and vitality.

いい天気が来たのでいつものように僕はまた朝のルーチンをやって戻りました。土壌にセミが出たところ小さい穴を見つけて、アリも行ったり来たりすることをたくさん見た。庭が唸っています。でも虫の鳴き声から唸っていますではなく、世界の透明の生気からこの唸りが出て来ました。

Now that the weather is steady I can start to plan some projects for the garden. I've missed the chance to plant some vegetables and flowers, but I've still got plenty of other things to get on with.

そして晴れているから庭の計画を考えています。たぶん野菜と花を蒔くことが遅れたと思うが、他のプロジェクトを始まる予定があります。
