Weekly Topic: Something new that you are recently learning

Most of you know me here as a language teacher. But I can assure you, I have a whole different life behind the scenes! :-)

I have been learning the saxophone for almost a year by now! I can tell, this gives me a lot of challenges and also a lot of happiness! It gave me company in the wildest experiences of lockdown, it holds me firm when the whole world crumbles around me, and it gives me a goal for each and every day to keep on! :-)

I am not unfamiliar to music. I can read and write notes. My voice is not practiced, so I prefer to just hum along songs (and that too, also only in my bathroom!). I used to play the piano for more than 9 years when I was a school student, so I decided it is high time to try something else.

Luckily, in Thailand, where I live now, saxophone is quite a common instrument. Almost every music school offers it. With my teacher here, I connected instantly. I think it is also important what the teacher's personality is like because in the learning curve it's inevitable to lose the motivation from time to time. But if your teacher is an angel (like mine), s/he will keep you motivating!

There is a long way ahead of me, but I am more than happy to play in my school's band! It gives me such joy! :-)

If you want to hear more about how to play the saxophone or about my journey of music, feel free to take my free talk in English sessions. :-) Until the end of this month, I offer 25% discount if you're a new student on my profile! :-)
