Chaas - Buttermilk - The Classic Summer Drink

SB

Hi all,

Greetings from Hyderabad !

Being a native of south India which is relatively warmer than the other parts of India, I can only tell there is so much to relate to this topic "How to stay cool during hot day" .

One such way is to have or consume lots of this classic indian summer drink called "Chaas/ Buttermilk" .
Consuming the chaas twice or thrice in a day simply flushes out the heat out of ones body and keeps it cool and soothing.

It's a very simple and yet very effective recipe.  All one has to do to make this drink is to have the following ingredients.
1. Plain Yoghurt/ curd - Blend it with little bit salt as per your taste.
2. Water - Add water to the blended yoghurt.
3. Cumin seeds/ powder - Add a pinch or two of roasted cusmin seeds or cumin powder.
4. Curry leaves - Add few curry leaves.
5. Mint leaves - Add few mint leaves.
6. Ginger - Add a piece of finely cut/ chopped ginger.
7. Lemon - Squeeze the juice of a half or quarter of a lemon into the mix.

Stir it and consume and relish this lingering taste.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you like it.

Thanking you.

Best Regards,
Shirin
