You absolutely crushed it!

每週主題: The best compliment you have ever received

Cheryl Teacher

One of the most memorable compliments I have received came after a special time spent with friends. "You absolutely crushed it," my friend said, talking about a meditation session I had led for our group. This was after a cosy evening at another friend's house, where we had gathered to meditate and discuss the Gospel of Mark.

Our group, consisting of about 16 members, had planned eight sessions over four months, with each member taking turns to lead a session. The goal was to create a space where we could meditate and delve into the teachings of the Gospel of Mark. I had volunteered to kick off the program, and I was thrilled with how well the first session went.

That evening, after the session, my friend drove me home and shared how much she enjoyed the meditation. Her words of praise in the car were so appreciated, and in the days that followed, I received positive feedback from others, too. These affirmations reassured me that I had started our series on the right note.

The genuine kindness and support from my friends made me realise the true value of what we were doing. As we meditated and discussed each chapter of the book, the sense of community and shared purpose grew stronger.

After each of my friends’ marvellous sessions, I made sure to compliment them as well on their preparation and leadership. Each person brought something unique to their session, and it was wonderful to discuss what we enjoyed about each one and to encourage each other.

Being part of a community filled with positive and genuine words is an incredibly fulfilling experience. The affirmation I received that evening was more than just a compliment; it was a testament to the supportive and nurturing environment we had built together. It reminded me that simple, kind words can inspire and uplift us all.
