Illustrated Dictionaries: A Fun Way to Learn English

Weekly Topic: Recommended practice items/materials carefully selected

Clizia Mondini

The English for Everyone Illustrated English Dictionary is my favorite resource to give to students and use in my grammar lessons.

Pictures help you understand words quickly

Seeing a picture next to a word makes it easier to know what the word means, even if you don’t speak the language well yet.
Easy to remember new vocabulary
When you see a word with a picture, it’s easier to remember it later because your brain connects the image with the meaning.
Fun and interesting to use while learning
Illustrated dictionaries are more fun than regular ones. The colors and drawings make learning feel like a game, not a chore.
