When the AI Turns Off, Will Your Words Flow?

Suja

These days, AI can write your homework, your work email, even your presentation slides. But when it’s time to stand up and deliver your ideas in a meeting, a presentation, or even a friendly chat, AI isn’t there to speak for you.

I meet more and more learners who type perfectly but freeze when asked to speak. They fumble for words, repeat the same safe phrases, and avoid expressing opinions because they’ve never learned the techniques for clear, confident delivery.

So, what are these techniques , if you are aiming to be an advanced speaker of English?

·       Building your vocabulary in context – For example, in the AI & Tech class, we read real news articles and discuss current topics like “How AI is changing jobs” or “Cybersecurity threats.” You learn the terms you hear in today’s conversations so you can use them naturally.

·       Thinking beyond small talkTopic Discussion classes push you to give opinions on real issues—such as climate change, space exploration, or workplace culture—so you stop relying on “I like music” and start contributing meaningfully.

·       Structuring your answers under pressure – My Test Prep sessions (IELTS, CELPIP) train you to organise ideas quickly, expand on them, and speak clearly even with a timer running.

AI is a powerful tool but to get a confident voice , you will need to build your fluency with practice and I look forward to providing the coaching for it!
