Hello everyone!
This is MIKA, your Japanese teacher!
How is everyone spending their summer?
I love traveling, and I went on three trips this summer!
All of them were in Japan, but I went to four prefectures: Okinawa, Yamanashi, Gifu, and Nagano.
Let me introduce each one to you!
Today, I'll be talking about my favorite prefecture, Okinawa!
Have you ever been to Okinawa?
It's an island located about a three-hour flight from Tokyo!
Once you get off the plane, you'll be greeted by a completely different view from Tokyo!
Yes! The sea! UMI!
Okinawa is known for its beautiful ocean!
It's truly a beautiful, wonderful place!
Miyakojima, which I briefly introduced the other day, is one of Okinawa's outlying islands.
Take a look!
This beautiful ocean.
Looking at this view is so relaxing!
Since we were traveling with a 3-year-old and a baby, we went to some classic tourist spots!
First up was Churaumi Aquarium, a popular aquarium where you can see giant whale sharks!
Next was Pineapple Park, a pineapple theme park!
We drove around the park and enjoyed some delicious pineapples♪
And of course, we spent a lot of time at the beach!
My son and husband rode a glass-bottom boat and saw lots of fish!
We even had a drone take some photos!
It's a beautiful place and I love it, but please be careful as typhoons are common this season!
That's all for today.
I'll share more about my trip to Okinawa in the next column!
Stay tuned ( ◠‿◠ )
