I started ballet out of aspiration. When I was little, a friend invited me to a ballet class, but the lessons were much more rigorous and difficult than I expected. So I gave up after a while. As an adult, I discovered a class where adults could learn ballet. Unlike the strict lessons I had as a child, ballet was fun. I could wear the pointe shoes I'd always dreamed of and wear a flowing tutu. It was an exciting experience I couldn't have in my everyday life. I studied ballet for a while, but marriage and child-rearing took a long break from ballet. Last year, I happened to meet my ballet teacher. "Please come and do ballet again." "Yes, I suppose so..."
That conversation sparked a deep desire in my heart to take ballet again someday. Even though I know that playing table tennis or other sports helps me stay healthy, I just don't find it fun.
But who is really doing ballet at my age ? And what's the point of practicing ballet at this point? But I still want to try it. I wondered what other people would think if they found out I was taking ballet lessons.
Six months passed while I was thinking about these things.
I finally went to a trial lesson at a ballet school that I had been making excuses not to go to. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, "Hmm, maybe ballet is for me after all?" Above all, it was fun. I now go to ballet once a week. Outside of class, I practice ballet at home by watching YouTube videos. So,
that's what it means to love something.
