Halloween Game Night

Ann K

Everyone knows that children dress up in costumes and ask for candy on Halloween.  Have you ever wondered how adults celebrate?  In the English-speaking world there are many adult traditions including costume parties, scary movies, and haunted houses.  However, my favorite is Halloween Game Night. In my region, many groups and clubs meet for board games throughout the year.  On Halloween, a special meeting is often held where participants dress in costume, play games, and compete for theme-related prizes.  Refreshments often include snacks like Halloweeen cupcakes with orange and black icing and cookies shaped like spiders or witches' hats.  The night's prizes can include candy, DVDs of scary movies, cards and games, or tickets to a show. A good time is always had by all!
