I am happy to be here being able to share with you all. It is great that being so far away from each other we have the chance to share about our languages and cultures.

Today I just want to share a little bit about my country: Colombia.

I live in a very diverse country, not only talking about cultures, but also ecosystems and climates.

Talking about the weather: we don't have seasons, we are located near to the equator, which means we are in the middle of the planet, far from the poles, so the movement that produces the seasons don't affect this area that much. Here the weather depends on the altitude, how high are you located on relation to the sea level. My city is 2640m over the sea level, which makes it kind of cold... being the coolest 8 - 10 ºC and the warmest 23 - 25ºC. We have mountains and it rains a lot, but we have a few months with intense sun, usually at the beging of the year.

If you want to get a warmest weather you just have to move around a little bit and you will find a huge diversity of climates, depending on the altitud of the city or town where you are.

This diverisity of climates is very good for fruit and vegetable production, he have different kind of foods the whole year in different parts of the country.

Hoy solo quiero compartir un poco sobre mi país: Colombia.

Vivo en un país muy diverso, no solo en cuanto a cultura, sino también en cuanto a ecosistemas y climas.

Hablando del clima: no tenemos estaciones, estamos situados cerca del ecuador, lo que significa que estamos en el centro del planeta, lejos de los polos, por lo que el movimiento que produce las estaciones no afecta mucho a esta zona. Aquí el clima depende de la altitud, de la altura a la que te encuentras con respecto al nivel del mar. Mi ciudad está a 2640 m sobre el nivel del mar, lo que hace que sea un poco fría... con temperaturas mínimas de entre 8 y 10 ºC y máximas de entre 23 y 25 ºC. Tenemos montañas y llueve mucho, pero hay algunos meses con sol intenso, normalmente a principios de año.

Si quieres disfrutar de un clima más cálido, solo tienes que desplazarte un poco y encontrarás una gran diversidad de climas, dependiendo de la altitud de la ciudad o pueblo en el que te encuentres.

Esta diversidad de climas es muy buena para la producción de frutas y verduras, ya que tenemos diferentes tipos de alimentos durante todo el año en diferentes partes del país.
