Next Year, I Want to Be Someone Who Can ___! Start Preparing Now for Future You.

Weekly Topic: Next year, I want to be someone who can ___! Start preparing now for future you

Miss Yvonne

Have you ever thought about next year’s “future you”? What do you want to be able to do? Maybe it’s:

Speak English confidently in meetings

Travel and communicate without fear

Teach or tutor someone in a new language

Write emails fluently

Or simply hold a smooth conversation with new friends

The exciting thing is: you don’t have to wait until next year to start. Every step you take now brings your future self closer to your goal.

 How to Prepare Now

Set a clear goal
Write down exactly what you want to be able to do. For example: “Next year, I want to be someone who can confidently order food in English at a restaurant.”

Break it into small steps
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start small: learn 5 useful phrases a week, practice with a friend, or record yourself speaking.

Practice consistently
Even 10–15 minutes every day makes a huge difference. Consistency is more powerful than intensity.

Reflect on progress
Celebrate the small wins. Every time you use a new phrase or understand something better, your future self will thank you!

Use the right resources
Apps, online tutors, podcasts, and videos can help you practice and learn efficiently.

 Remember

Your future self is waiting for you to take action today. The person you want to become is shaped by the small steps you take now, not by waiting for next year to magically arrive.

So… what will your “future you” be able to do next year? Start preparing today!
