Learning a Foreign Language Taught Me How to Be a Better Teacher

Thulee

Recently, I started learning a foreign language myself. It hasn’t been easy.

Some days I feel motivated. Other days I struggle to remember words, hesitate before speaking, or worry about making mistakes. And honestly, this experience has reminded me how brave language learners really are.

Learning a new language can feel quiet and lonely sometimes. You practice, you repeat, and progress can feel slow , even when you’re trying your best. Being on the learner’s side again has helped me understand my students more deeply.

As a teacher, this has changed how I teach.
I’ve become more patient, more supportive, and more aware of how important a safe learning space is. I know how it feels to want to speak correctly, to search for the right words, and to feel nervous about being judged.

In my lessons, mistakes are welcome. They are part of learning, not something to fear. If you are learning English for work, interviews, or daily communication, I will guide you step by step, at your pace. We will focus on real communication, confidence, and clear expression — not perfection.

Language learning is a journey.
You don’t have to walk it alone.
