Daily English Upgrade #019: Business Skill — Deadlines + polite pushback

Mohamed Helmy

Saying “not possible” politely is a real skill.

Polite pushback:

  • That might be difficult by Friday.
  • I’m not sure we can make Friday.
  • Could we push it to Monday?
  • If we want quality, we’ll need more time.

Mini practice (20 seconds):
Reply politely in 1–2 sentences:
“The deadline is tomorrow.”

It’s much easier to make this natural when you practice it in real conversation. If you’d like, we can work on it together in a 25-minute lesson (supportive corrections, no pressure).
