The trend started on a holiday introduced by American TV show Parks and Rec. Similar to 友チョコ it's for women to celebrate each other & their friendship!
It's celebrated before Valentine's Day on February 13th. This year, it's a Friday!
So on the 13th, try celebrating the women in your life that support you, bring you joy, or could use some encouragement!
