湘南を代表するもののひとつが、江ノ電です。正式名称は「江ノ島電鉄」。藤沢から鎌倉までを結ぶ小さなローカル線ですが、観光客にも地元の人にも愛されています。
江ノ電の魅力のひとつは、家と家の間をすり抜けるように走ることです。線路のすぐ横に民家が並び、窓から手が届きそうな場所を電車が通ります。
大きな都市ではなかなか見られない、暮らしと鉄道がとても近い風景です。

One of the symbols of Shonan is the Enoden. Its official name is Enoshima Electric Railway. It is a small local line connecting Fujisawa and Kamakura, and it is loved by both tourists and local residents.
One of the charms of the Enoden is that it runs as if slipping between houses. Residential homes line the tracks, and the train passes so close that it almost feels within arm’s reach from the window.
It is a scene where everyday life and the railway exist side by side—something rarely seen in large cities.
