People often ask why I keep writing and drawing, even though it has never brought me a single penny. Why don’t I give it up?
1 - It’s my therapy. When I write or draw, my thoughts take shape and color. Fears and anxieties fade away, replaced by an incomparable, almost childlike joy. It’s magical, and that feeling alone makes it worth it.2 - Self-discovery. Diving into my subconscious and using metaphors helps me hear my own emotions and desires. When we understand ourselves, it becomes so much easier to interact with the world around us.
3 - Leaving a trace. It might be naive, but I want to leave a mark in this world - even if it’s as light as a footprint in the sand. I hope that now, or years later, my work will resonate with someone.
4 - A hand held out. Sometimes we look at art not for technique, but for a "survival guide." I share how I process anxiety through a drawing or a poem in the hope that it might be a small flashlight for someone else in the dark. It’s about passing warmth from one person to another when words are not enough.
Creativity is about connection. I know many of you are creative souls too. Why do you create? What brings you that spark?
Wishing you inspiration and the joy of living under this vast sky. Love and light!
