副词“就” -- The Adverb “就”

副词对于汉语学习者来说可不容易，而且中文里的副词又特别多，那今天我们就来学习副词，“就”吧～俗话说，不积跬步，无以至千里。

Adverbs can be quite challenging for learners of Chinese, and there are so many of them in the language. So today, let’s take a look at the adverbs “就” and “才.” As the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

我们来看下面⬇️这个对话：Let’s take a look at the following conversation⬇️:

A：晚上wǎnshang我们wǒmen去qù饭馆fànguǎn吃饭chīfàn怎么样zěnmeyàng？

B：我wǒ不想bùxiǎng去qù外面wàimiàn吃chī，我wǒ想xiǎng在家zàijiā吃chī。

A：那nà你nǐ准备zhǔnbèi做zuò什么shénme呢ne？

B：就jiù做zuò你nǐ爱ài吃chī的de红hóng烧shāo鱼yú吧ba。

副词“就+动词”，表示承接上下文，得出结论。我们再来看两个例句。The adverbial phrase “just + verb” indicates a connection to the preceding context and draws a conclusion. Let's look at two more examples.

例如：1. 你nǐ不bù想xiǎng出chū去qù玩wán，就jiù在zài家jiā休xiū息xī吧ba

2. 这zhè儿er的de咖kā啡fēi不bú错cuò，就jiù喝hē咖kā啡fēi吧ba。

但是，我们再来看 副词‘就”作为时间副词强调说话人认为事情发生得早，进行得快的对话：However, let’s now look at the adverb “就” when used as a temporal adverb to emphasize that the speaker believes an event occurred early or unfolded quickly:

A：今天jīntiān晚上wǎnshang我们wǒmen一起yìqǐ吃饭chīfàn吧ba，给gěi你nǐ过生日guòshēngrì。

B：今天jīntiān？离lí我wǒ的de生日shēngrì还有háiyǒu一个yígè多duō星期xīngqī呢ne！
