Quick tips for speaking English more fluently!

Zeenath

Many English learners study for years yet they still feel nervous when having conversations!

Why?

Because everyday conversations are very different from textbook English. Native speakers often speak quickly, use simple expressions and phrases.

So here are a few ways you can make your English conversation sound more natural.

  • Use simple English
Many learners think that the key to sounding more fluent is difficult vocabulary. But many native speakers use simple expressions. For example instead of "I don't understand" we can say "I don't get it".

  • Learn conversation fillers
In daily conversations, people do not speak perfectly all the time. We often use fillers when we pause and think of an answer.
For example, "well", "actually", "you know" are some common fillers!

  • Do not worry about being perfect
Many people overthink when they learn a language. Don't worry, I do it as well! However, making mistakes is all a part of learning. So don't worry too much!

So speak as much as possible, practice simple sentences using fillers and do not be afraid of making a mistake!
