Expand Passion For Cultural Understanding

Julie Ezell

To know two languages is to have two souls’ by Charlemagne.
He was also known as Charles the Great, who was a medieval king who ruled much of Western Europe from 768 to 814.  He united most of Western and Central Europe, laying foundational roots for modern Europe.

It is a poetic quote that illustrates how much learning another language helps us to more deeply understand other cultures by influencing our way of thinking, our emotions, new cultural perspectives, and our view of the world (especially the culture of countries that speak that language).

This quote motivates me to continue my quest and passion to learn about other cultures as it is truly fascinating to me.
