If you enjoy books that allow you to see the world from a completely different perspective, I really recommend The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

The story is told by Christopher, a 15-year-old boy who sees and experiences the world differently from the people around him. When he discovers his neighbour's dog has been killed, he decides to investigate what happened. What begins as a mystery soon becomes a much bigger journey involving family, trust, independence and some unexpected discoveries.

One of the things I find most interesting about this book is the way the story is told. We experience events through Christopher's perspective, including his difficulties understanding other people's behaviour and emotions, his need for routine and his extraordinary ability with mathematics and patterns.

Despite the title, this isn't really a story about a dog. It's a story about people, relationships and trying to make sense of a world that can sometimes feel confusing.

It's funny in places, sad in others, and very thought-provoking. It's also written in an unusual and accessible style, making it an interesting choice for English learners who would like to try reading a novel in English.
