Ishiguro-san Inspired Me to Become a Better Writer.

Weekly Topic: A person who has inspired me

Hello everyone,

Do you know they just announced the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature for 2026? if not, you're probably going to hear about it any moment now.

Spoiler: It's a Poet.

Ishiguro-san came into my personal spotlight in 2017, when he won the prestigious award, despite my lack of interest in literature at that time. The Nobel Foundation appraised him as someone, in novels of great emotional force, who has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world.

Years later, I got the chance to pick up my first of Kazuo Ishiguro's books in 2021, and now I want to share the experience of revisiting that with English Learners on Cafetalk.

I hope to see you soon...

P.s. The movie adaptation is coming out this month, but I'm protesting 'cuz my region has yet to receive an official release date.
