You’ve Studied Japanese… But Can You Actually Speak It?

Shima Nihongo

Learning Japanese Is More Than Just Studying a Textbook!

こんにちは!I'm Shima, a licensed Japanese teacher from Japan.

Have you ever studied Japanese grammar and vocabulary but found it difficult to use them in a real conversation?

You're not alone!

Learning Japanese isn't just about memorizing words or passing the JLPT. It's also about expressing yourself, understanding Japanese culture, and connecting with people in everyday life.

A Little About Me

I have three years of experience teaching Japanese in a classroom setting. Through teaching, I've learned that every student has different goals, strengths, and challenges.

Some students want to pass the JLPT. Others want to travel around Japan, communicate with Japanese friends, or feel more confident speaking Japanese.

Whatever your goal is, I'd love to help you on your journey!

Let's Learn Japanese Together

In my lessons, I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and trying new things.

We can work on:

  • Everyday Japanese conversation

  • Grammar and vocabulary

  • JLPT preparation

  • Natural expressions used by Japanese people

  •  Speaking with more confidence

You don't need to speak perfect Japanese to start a conversation. Every small step counts!

A Message to Japanese Learners

Learning a language takes time, and there may be days when you feel that you're not making progress. That's completely normal.

Don't compare your journey with someone else's. Focus on what you can do today, and keep moving forward at your own pace.

I hope my lessons can help you take Japanese beyond the textbook and into your everyday life.

If you're looking for a friendly teacher who will support you as you learn, I look forward to meeting you in my lessons on Cafetalk!

一緒に楽しく日本語を勉強しましょう!

Let's enjoy learning Japanese together!
