British and American English vocabulary - Part 3

Суббота, 30 Сентябрь 2017 r. 11:41

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are enjoying this fine sunny day :-)

Today's column will be part 3 of my continuing series on British and American English vocabulary.

If you have been following the previous parts, thank you!

And if you haven't, then please feel free to check them out here :

https://cafetalk.com/column/read/?id=70778&lang=en

So today to make the column different, I decided to mention a few different examples of spelling words in British and American English. I hope you enjoy it!

British English : Colour

American English : Color

British English : Theatre

American English : Theater

British English : Licence

American English : License

So there you go for today guys! I hope you enjoyed this column. It is worth noting that while these are the 'correct' spellings in each country, it appears that they are starting to become more interchangeable nowadays, particularly with words like 'theatre' and 'theater' in American.

Have a lovely day everyone and feel free to send me a message or leave a comment below if you have any questions or feedback!
