The Gender of Language

Dec 7, 2017

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a bit more advanced of an article. But I thought I'd share it with those who were interested.

I have always found the study of language to be fascinating (it's why I studied linguistics and anthropology in college!) and the topic of gendered language is a particular area of interest to me.

People argue that language often shapes our perception of the world around us. And if we have gendered language, it can shape the way we see men and women and the level of equality we give them.

What do you think? Have you studied (or do you speak) a gendered language? Do you think gender bias exists in every language?

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Feel free to share them below or request a lesson and we can discuss this article. :)

Have a great day~
