IELTS - Who should take the General Exam and who needs the Academic Version?

It is important to take the correct version of the exam.
The version you choose will depend on your reason for taking IELTS.

If you need your IELTS certification to continue studies abroad, you will take the Acedemic version.

If you need your IELTS certification for immigration purposes, or for a job, the General test
will be the one to take.

The reading and writing modules are a lot more complex for the Academic version while
the General version generates higher scores.
