Perfect Balance 3 Step Meditation Lesson!

2018年6月24日

Some of you may have noticed that I have added a lesson called 'Perfect Balance 3 Step Meditation' to my page!

https://cafetalk.com/lessons/detail/?id=159988&lang=en

This is a method of meditation that I developed many years ago, using my experiences from teaching Yoga and Martial arts, as well as other techniques I have studied and picked up from meditation retreats and classes around the world!

I have personally meditated everyday for many years now, and I consider this to be an ESSENTIAL component to my daily routine.

If I am stressed out - I meditate.
If I am overly excited - I meditate.
If I catch myself worrying about the future or dwelling on the past - I meditate!

It is something I like to do as soon as I wake up to start my day mindfully, but also down by my favourite spot at the pond in Nara, and on the top of mountains.

This '3 step' method is one which I developed to teach beginners the basics of meditation, but also to incorporate some other factors from Taoist and Buddhist meditation systems.

The 3 Steps I speak about here are :

1. Relaxation
Getting the body in to a relaxed and mindful state. Switching off the external senses gradually so that we can focus the mind, and we can go deeper INTERNALLY.

2. Gratitude
Giving gratitude for what we have in life. Bringing to mind facets of our life which we often take for granted, and being appreciative of them.
This phase also involves sending out positive thoughts to those in need around the world - someone who you do not know personally, and then someone who you do know personally.

3. Visualisation
This phase involves visualising your perfect future in 10 years from today. We then bring it to the nearer future, 1 year from today. We finish up by visualising your perfect day today.

Of course - the above is only in brief, and there is a lot more that I will teach over the duration of these lessons, but that is the basis of my system.
I have used this in many Yoga classes, and also taught it privately in one to one sessions with athletes and lay people at my studio back in London, UK.

This practice is 100% non religious, and so anyone is able to take part, regardless of spiritual background (or lack thereof).

I have been teaching this practice for another company recently, and I figured 'why not add it to my lessons on Cafetalk?!'. After receiving some great feedback from a Chinese student about this lesson yesterday I felt that it was not only worth putting on here for those interesting in starting a meditation practice, but I feel that it now 'completes' my lesson ion on Cafetalk. There is now a full spectrum of lessons ranges from the fully 'external' to the fully 'internal'.

I hope to see some of you for this lesson soon.

Have a great day everyone, and STAY BALANCED!

David
