Q. Hi Nika, would you like to give us a short self introduction?

A. Hello! My name is Nika. I am 20 years old. I am from Russia, Moscow. I have been studying English since I was 6 years old. Last year I graduated University with a degree in teaching English as a foreign language. I like traveling, 3D modeling, learning foreign languages, poetry, rhymes and cooking. At the moment I am learning more about Japan (about their culture, lifestyle and traditional foods). Also, I dream to travel all around the world!

Q. I heard you live in Moscow. Could you please tell us about your city?

A. Moscow is a big city. Recently more and more people immigrate to Moscow, considering it as a good town for starting and developing their career. In the heart of Moscow, the Red Square, you can see many beautiful architectures, and you can buy traditional Russian souvenirs there like matryoshka or shapka-ushanka. There are a lot of offices, restaurants, museums, theatres, parks and other interesting places! The Old Arbat (Stariy Arbat) is particularly interesting. I recommend you to visit it! If you heard about Russian hospitality, you should know that Russians like taking in guests and, of course, treat you with tasty food:) Some people can be very kind!

Q. According to your profile, you like to go to traveling. Where have you been to? Do you have any interesting experiences of your trip?

A. Yes, I have been to Finland and to its neighbouring country Sweden, but this was only for vacation. So far I have worked only in Russia as an English teacher at a school and as a camp leader as summer camps. I am sure that it gave me valuable teaching experience. I am also planning to travel to Germany and Japan for Au pair program!

Q. You have taught Russian language for 4 years. What made you start?

A. I have been tutoring both Russian and English since I was 16 years old. I have always loved communicating with foreigners, and talking with them made me think that one day I would want to make interesting lessons for foreigners where they could learn how to have a natural conversation. Thus, I conducted such conversational lessons. The studying material I provided for our lessons was creative, educational, and easy to comprehend.

Q. Your lessons have a great range of targets, which is from beginners to intermediates. What is the feature of your lessons? Any words of advice for them?

A. My goal is to make learning Russian as interesting and educational as possible for a student. I do my best to make our lesson natural, I try to make it seem like as if you were just chit-chatting with your friend, but all the while gaining new useful knowledge. I introduce material that we learn through a presentation, and afterwards we practice it together. My lessons are so productive that from the very first lesson a student can learn how to use basic Russian phrases!

Q. Finally, would you like to leave a message for our students?

A. The more you try, the more you succeed! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, remember that this is your own path! You have to learn something first, and then after that you can compare your progress and witness how your level has changed!
