Q. Hi Dean, please tell us a little bit about yourself! As you know, most Japanese like your home island, Hawaii! Could you please tell us about your hometown?

A. Where I’m from the weather is like summer all year long. Many of the people that live in Hawaii are very friendly, and extremely easy to talk with. There are many tropical plants to see, and a whole lot of natural fruits to eat. The mountains are in Hawaii are filled with many natural waterfalls for you to go swimming in and to enjoy on a daily basis. While growing up, I use to always go to the waterfalls for swimming. It’s a very enjoyable thing to do while you are in Hawaii.

Q. You have a lesson, “Let’s talk about Hawaii”. What do you plan to talk about in this lesson with students?

A. My goal for this class is teach students about the best places to go to in Hawaii while on a vacation, in a simple conversational way, so they can practice their English in a way that they don`t have much opportunity to do so, while in Japan.

Q. According to your profile, you have lived in Japan for 10 years! Which prefecture do you live in? How is your life there?

A. Actually, it’s a little over 10 year that I have been living here in Japan. Presently, I’m living in Niigata Prefecture. I would say that I really like it here in Niigata. Niigata is a wonderful place to be, especially if you love nature.

Q. You said you have a lot of hobbies like swimming, body boarding and hiking.

A. Yes, I do. And not only that, I also love to create my own videos that I tend to post onto my YouTube account from time to time.

Q. Do you enjoy your hobbies in Japan, too?

A. Well, for many of the things that I like to do, I have to say that I can’t do all of it here in Japan. But there are things that I do love to do that I tend to always do to keep myself occupied.

Q. Please tell us about the feature of your lesson!

A. I would like to say that the feature of my lesson, and the main point of what I am trying to accomplish in my lesson, is to both promote Hawaii in Japan and the English language in a simple conversational way.

Q. Finally, would you like to leave a message for our students.

A. Yes, Thank you. The English language does not have to be a difficult language at all. If students were to stop thinking so deeply about English, and just speak it in a conversational way, mistakes or no mistakes, they will soon all become better English speakers.
Practice make perfect!
The more you practice, the better you will be.
This saying goes for anything, whether its English or not.
