- Flat White: Trendy, sophisticated, appreciates quality
- Americano: Practical, enjoys simplicity
- Iced Coffee: Adventurous, always on the go
- Frappuccino: Fun-loving, youthful, enjoys sweet things
- Macchiato: Strong personality, appreciates bold flavors
- Decaf: Health-conscious, values mindfulness
-
Discussion Question:
- Do you think coffee orders reflect personality? Why or why not?
- Have you ever judged someone based on their coffee choice?
Practice (10 mins) – Café Roleplay: "What Your Coffee Says About You"
Scenario:
You are in a café, waiting for your coffee. A friendly barista (or another customer) strikes up a conversation about your order.
Role A (Barista/Customer): Ask about the coffee choice and make a fun guess about their personality based on it.
Role B (Customer): Defend or explain your choice in a way that reflects your personality.
Example:
A: "Oh, you ordered a Flat White! You must be a minimalist who loves strong flavors and good aesthetics."
B: "Actually, I just like the balance between milk and espresso, but I do appreciate simple, well-made things!"
Takeaway:
Coffee is more than just a drink—it’s a lifestyle, a culture, and sometimes even a personality statement. Next time you order your coffee, think about what it might be saying about you!
Homework (Optional):
Next time you're in a café, listen to how people order their coffee. Try to imagine their personality based on their choice and be ready to share your observations in the next lesson.
