Where would like to go
Description
One-on-One English Lesson: Travel and Places (Adult Students)
This lesson plan is designed for a one-on-one English lesson with an adult student interested in travel and places. It incorporates fun and engaging activities to practice vocabulary, grammar, and speaking skills.
Level: This lesson plan can be adapted for beginner, intermediate, or advanced students by adjusting the complexity of the activities and vocabulary.
Warm-up (5 minutes):
Start with a conversation about travel. Ask the student:
Do you like to travel?
What are some places you've been to?
Where would you like to travel in the future?
Beginner/Intermediate: Introduce basic travel vocabulary using pictures. Show pictures of different places like beaches, mountains, cities, and historical landmarks. Have the student name the places and practice pronunciation. You can also use a worksheet with matching exercises or fill-in-the-blank sentences.
Advanced: Discuss different types of travel experiences. Ask the student:
Do you prefer relaxing vacations or adventurous trips?
What are some cultural experiences you'd like to have while travelling?
Speaking Activity (15-20 minutes):
Picture Prompt: Show the student several pictures of different places around the world (you can find these online). Ask them to choose a place they'd like to visit and describe it in detail. Encourage them to use the vocabulary they learned earlier and answer questions like:
What kind of place is it? (beach, city, etc.)
What are some things you could do there?
Why would you like to visit this place?
