Read an article or listen to a story—and then we talk!

Description

In this lesson, we talk about any news topic that interests you.  Having a conversation about current events is a very big part of everyday life.  It is very useful to practice with the news because it is interesting, real and natural.

In this lesson, you can improve:

  •      Comprehension
  •      Pronunciation
  •      Vocabulary
  •      Natural Conversation
  •      Reported Speech
  •      Analytical Skills and more…

Having a normal conversation with a native speaker will prepare you for any language experience.  I can help you feel more comfortable and confident in daily speaking.

Why have this conversation with me?  My bachelor’s degree is in political science, and I consume news a lot.  I am very interested in current events because I care about our world and the way people live.  In my country the United States, for example, we have an important election soon.  It is important to talk about issues that will affect the entire world, especially in democracies.

I have also lived and traveled to places that are major news stories today.  For example, I lived in Syria when the revolution started.  I have also witnessed major events in Africa and the condition of foreign workers in Saudi Arabia.  News stories are important to me because they tell us about the human condition.  Knowledge about news can make the world better for us and for all places.
