Description

What if reading English could feel like going on an adventure?

In this fun, story-based lesson, young learners will explore exciting adventures while developing important English reading skills.

We'll read an age-appropriate story together and discover new vocabulary, characters, places, events, and challenges along the way. Through questions, games, and short activities, your child will practise understanding what they read rather than simply reading the words aloud.

The story may take us to a mysterious island, a busy city, an enchanted forest, a distant planet, or another exciting world!

What we'll practise:

• Reading and understanding age-appropriate English texts
• Learning new vocabulary through stories and context
• Identifying characters, settings, and important events
• Understanding the main idea and key details
• Answering comprehension questions
• Making predictions about what might happen next
• Retelling parts of the story in their own words
• Speaking about the story and sharing ideas

By the end of the lesson, your child will:

✓ Have practised reading and understanding an engaging English story
✓ Have learned useful new vocabulary in context
✓ Be better able to identify important information in a text
✓ Have practised answering questions using evidence from the story
✓ Have developed their ability to explain what they have read
✓ Have experienced English reading as something enjoyable and exciting
