Practice talking about current events around the globe, learn to understand headlines, and improve your ability to discuss new topics.
In this class we will look at three major current news stories, and:
1) Try to understand the story from just the headline.
2) Discuss the story, and practice giving your opinion in English.
3) Look at any English mistakes and correct them, then try again.
News stories can be an excellent way to study English; they often include past, present, and future; they deal with a wide range of topics; and they are very common in 'small talk' situations, so you should get some chance to practice talking about news in real life!
