Description
Lesson Goals:
- Improve professional communication skills.
- Learn formal and polite business English expressions.
- Practice writing and speaking for workplace situations.
1. Warm-up
Ask a simple work-related question to get the student talking:
- “Can you describe your job and daily tasks?”
- “What challenges do you face when using English at work?
2. Main Lesson – Business Scenario Practice
🔹Option 1: Email Writing (Formal vs. Informal)
- Teach email structure: Subject line, greeting, body, closing
- Compare formal vs. informal tone:
- Informal: “Hey John, can you send me the report?”
- Formal: “Dear John, Could you kindly send me the report at your earliest convenience?”
- Student Task: Write a short email (e.g., requesting a meeting, following up on a task)
- Correction & Feedback: Improve clarity, tone, and professionalism
🔹 Option 2: Business Meetings – Roleplay
- Introduce key phrases:
- “Let’s get started with today’s agenda.”
- “Could you clarify that point?”
- “I agree with your suggestion, but I’d like to add…”
- Student Task: Roleplay a business meeting (e.g., discussing a project update, negotiating with a client)
- Feedback: Improve fluency, pronunciation, and confidence
3. Feedback & Discussion
✅ Highlight strong points (clarity, confidence, vocabulary).
✅ Give corrections for grammar, sentence structure, or pronunciation
4. Wrap-up & Homework
- Encouragement;
- Practice Suggestion;
- Homework.
