Practice English through news and current events.
課程介紹
News! It's everywhere, yet the language of news is almost its own dialect. For many learners, news media represents the final frontier when working toward English fluency.
By studying current events using real video, audio and written news items, learners can practice identifying and using passive voice, idiomatic expressions, tone and inflection, and perhaps most challenging of all, sarcasm. Lessons will begin with reading, vocabulary and comprehension, and end with free discussion.
With each lesson, I will prepare a news item to study together, sourced from Canadian, American, British or Australian media, or other English language sources.
Have you come across a story or article that was you would like to look at in depth? Do you have questions about something you read, heard or watched? Students are also welcome to send along news stories that they would like to work on together.
