Step into the enchanting world of Avonlea through one of the most beloved literary classics of all time.
This class is a 25-minute session, including approximately 5 minutes of warm-up conversation and 20 minutes of reading, discussion, and related activities.
If you would prefer longer reading sessions, please choose Stephanie’s Book Club lesson or lesson pack, which offers 55-minute sessions with more time for reading, discussion, and deeper exploration of the story.
In this ongoing Book Club series, we will read and discuss the complete Anne of Green Gables collection by L.M. Montgomery, following Anne Shirley’s journey from an imaginative young orphan to a confident young woman discovering friendship, family, love, and her place in the world.
Together, we will explore Anne’s adventures, her wonderful imagination, her challenges, and the charming community of Avonlea while building confidence in English through guided reading and conversation.
Each lesson includes:
• Reading aloud with pronunciation support
• Vocabulary and useful expressions
• Reading comprehension and story discussion
• Discussion questions
• Cultural and historical insights into life on Prince Edward Island, Canada during the late 19th and early 20th centuries
• Opportunities to share your opinions and practice natural conversation
Whether you are discovering Anne’s story for the first time or returning to a childhood favourite, this class offers a relaxed and supportive environment to improve your English while enjoying a timeless classic.
