1. A good method of improving your speaking - fluency.
I have several stories - there is an easy story titled "The Kind Waitress.
Some are more difficult and challenging:
"Love at First Sight".
"The Babysitter".
"A Real Bargain".
"A Mandatory Vacation."
The Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) is a strategy that guides students in asking questions about a text, making predictions, and then reading to confirm or refute their predictions. The DRTA process encourages students to be active and thoughtful readers, enhancing their understanding of a text before, during, and after reading
I live in Nachikatsuura, Wakayama ken and have been using this D.R.T.A. approach for a couple of years with a lot of success. D.R.T.A. stands for `Directed Reading and Thinking Activities`. It encourages students to make predictions about a story. The stories and format I use were written by the American teacher Lindsay Young. I have been in contact with her and she approves the use of her work. It has helped my students with vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.
