In this lesson, we will examine the assessment criteria for IELTS speaking and writing and look at what you should place focus on in order to improve your band score.

Are you new to the IELTS test?
This lesson provides you with a guide on the criteria and the different band scores for each criteria in order to give you a better understanding on how you are tested in IELTS. It is good knowledge to have to get you better prepared on the expectations for the IELTS Speaking and Writing tests.
You will gain a clearer understanding of what examiners look out for in speaking and writing. We will look at strategies and examples of what candidates say that are not recommended.
Avoid some of these negative features in your writing and speaking while you strive to accomplish the positive features that award you a higher band score.
